Top 5 Reasons to Golf

Top 5 Reasons to Golf
Golf is a game you can play for a lifetime and everyone in the family can join in. It’s a great way to enjoy the outdoors and spend time away from your daily tasks and chores while doing something good for your mind and body. There are so many great reasons to golf that we can’t list them all but here are our Top 5.

Great Exercise
Golf is one of the best forms of exercise and easy for everyone to participate. You can speed around the course in a cart or maybe needing to ride for medical reasons but otherwise walking 18 holes for 4-5 hours is great exercise. Just swinging the golf club engages many different muscle groups and requires flexibility which will improve as you do it more frequently. Next time you walk the course be sure you also enjoy the fresh air.

Beautiful Scenery
One of the best things about golf is being outdoors with trees, flowers, lakes and streams, and even the occasional deer or squirrel. Many courses have spectacular water features and others overlook the natural beauty of the ocean or mountains. If you’re competing for million dollar prize money then you better focus on the golf but for everyone else it’s recommended to take some time and enjoy the scenery along the way.

Compete with Anyone
It’s a given that the adult male is generally bigger and stronger than an adult female, young child, and even a senior. The great thing about golf is that everyone plays to a handicap which minimizes those physical differences and allows you to compete on a level playing field. The course should offer three to five different tee boxes varying the length of the hole so that every player in your group will be hitting their approach shot from about the same place.

Challenge Yourself
The only person you have to compete with on the golf course is yourself. You can keep score and compare that with others in your group but at the end of the day you want to know how did you do against par. With every round of golf is a new opportunity to improve your score from the last time and challenge yourself to do better. Your time on the course can be used to exercise your mind as much as your exercise your body.

Improve Relationships
You can golf with your spouse, your best friend, your kids, your boss, and even someone you don’t know. Spending 4-5 hours with someone over a friendly game of golf gives you plenty of time to get to know them better. You’ll have an opportunity to clear up any unanswered questions, strengthening the bond you have with them, and even discuss business and close deals with existing and potential customers. Whoever said that many a business deal is done on the golf course was not kidding.

Have fun on the course!
